“Esperia” is the name with which the Greeks originally designated the lands West of Hesperus (vesper, evening), where the sun sets. Esperia was born in 1952 in Poggibonsi, Siena, a place rich in history. The Company expresses a strong bond with the Tuscan district. Starting in the 1960s it expanded its production, thanks to an important structural and productive development. In the same year, Esperia began a fruitful and lasting collaboration with Professor Angelo Brotto. The creative direction of Professor Brotto began in 1958 and lasted for 20 years, generating an exclusive relationship with Esperia that led to a bond of profound friendship with Romano Conforti, the founder of the company. Today Esperia is a company of excellence engaged daily in research and development of innovative and contemporary projects. To lead it we find the second generation with the sons of Romano Conforti, Riccardo and Giuliana, and the third generation with Jacopo, who are animated by a common design vision projected towards the future. Esperia production consists of unique “art” lamps, made and assembled by hand thanks to the experience gained over more than 65 years of history. Materials, such as castings in brass and the crystals of Colle Val D’Elsa, a true hallmark of Esperia, are treated with the skillful craftsmanship of the artisans of the district, and represent the starting point for iconic luminous sculptures, and for custom projects dedicated to retail and contract scenes.
