About Tokujin Yoshioka

Tokujin Yoshioka, born in 1967, is a Japanese designer and artist who was influenced by Leonardo da Vinci. He established his own design company in 2000 after studying under the Japanese famous designers Shiro Kuramata and Issei Miyake. He has created works from architecture to contemporary artwork and collaborated with many global companies including Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and Hermes.
His products are known for their nature-themed poetic aesthetic, and his internationally acclaimed unique designs using unmaterialistic elements, such as light, are highly valued around the world.
Many of his works are selected as permanent collections at the world’s major museums including the Museum of Modern art (MoMA), Paris Museum of Modern Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. He has been internationally awarded Design Miami/Designer of the Year, ELLE DECO International Design Awards Designer of the Year and the Milano Design Award.
