Ettore Sottsass's Agra represents a powerful visual synthesis that skillfully blends classical tradition with Eastern stylistic elements. The sofa's armrests are embellished with printed cotton fabric padding (the "Zambia" pattern was designed by Nathalie Du Pasquier). The choice of the name "Agra" is a clear homage to India, a country discovered and beloved by Sottsass in the 1960s.
