Gabriella Crespi designed the Bohemian 72 Floor Lamp as an expression of elegance rooted in natural form and serene utility. Shaped in 1972 on her Milanese terrace, this lamp blends rattan craft with sculptural warmth. GUBI revived the design fifty years later, drawing from Crespi’s original drawings and working with her estate to preserve its poetic authenticity.
The lamp features a vertical arrangement of finely coiled rattan vines and a rattan dome accented with brass. This design allows the central light to filter through the cane, creating a captivating play of light and shadow, perfect for living rooms, covered patios, or atmospheric corners.
Crespi aimed to merge indoor and outdoor ambiance in what she called her “house of the sun,” favoring materials that embody strength, flexibility, and warmth. She chose rattan to reflect her deep sentiment for nature’s energy, an approach that still resonates today.
