Who knows if the shape of Matteo Thun's Santa Ana intentionally recalls the UFO flying saucer spotted in 1965 over the Californian city of the same name? This ceiling lamp uses white as the sole color to define the material and plastic strength of the ceramic lampshade, which defines its composition based on the circle and the repetition of the sphere. Thun, the son of ceramists, creatively approaches his relationship with this material: he has repeatedly stated his predilection for craftsmanship, for the "handmade."
