The Hungarian painter, lithograph, silversmith, designer and teacher was born in 1899. In 1920 he started his apprenticeship as a silversmith in the Weimar Bauhaus. He achieved recognition with his design of a floor lamp for the famous Haus am Horn. From 1926 to 1933 he lived as a painter and curator in Berlin. Between 1949 and 1962 he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest.
