About Eventail Table

The Eventail Table designed by Pierre Chareau in 1923 for Galerie MCDE. A rare and ingenious piece from the mind of celebrated French architect Pierre Chareau, the Table Éventail (“Fan Table”) is an iconic expression of early 20th-century modernist design. Originally conceived in 1923 for the Bernheim-Dalsace family, this table reflects Chareau’s singular ability to fuse mechanical function with sculptural elegance.

Crafted in blackened, oxidized metal, the table opens into four graduated, rotating leaves that pivot outward like a fan, offering both compact and expansive display surfaces. When fully extended, its form is dynamic—an architectural gesture that evokes Chareau’s interest in kinetic form and modular living.

Notably featured in the famed Maison de Verre and exhibited at the 1924 Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, the Table Éventail is a benchmark of modern collectible design. This limited edition, officially sanctioned by Galerie MCDE, faithfully preserves the precision and material integrity of the original.
