Mads Caprani adapted his iconic Timberline Floor Lamp into the compact Timberline Table Lamp, preserving the playful, question-mark-inspired curve at a desktop scale. GUBI revived his original concept with precision, retaining the sculptural essence while enhancing stability and performance.
The table lamp features a bent-wood spine crafted from nine alternating layers of oak and birch. A canvas pleated shade sits atop, and you can angle it to direct light where needed. A cast-iron crescent base anchors the form, ensuring balance, while the flat-pack design supports easy assembly and long-term maintenance.
Caprani drew inspiration from the woodline, the boundary where trees cease to grow, and translated that into form and material contrast. The lamp delivers localized, intimate lighting that highlights details without overwhelming. Its design retains Caprani’s blend of sincerity and whimsy, making it a timeless staple in Scandinavian modern decor.
