Luna Sospensione

Gio Ponti was a prolific artist whose work spanned many mediums. For the Triennale exhibition in 1957 the Milanese architect and designer built a prefabricated house and filled it with objects of his own invention. Luna was one of those items... but it remained only a prototype until 2017.  Experimenting with new materials was at the basis of Ponti's work.  In 1957 Ponti utilized the then modern technology of thermoforming to mold the plastic of the Luna lighting family, creating a futuristic disc shape which drops down from a graceful cord.  The drop can be customized to accommodate most spaces.
