About Malipiero Chandelier

Malipiero Chandelier by Venini. For centuries, in Venetian palazzi the function of the exquisite chandeliers made in Murano was to be an impressive furnishing component, their sheer size and the refinement of their workmanship amazing and striking wonder in whoever saw them. The Malipiero chandelier, conceived in 1930, carries on this tradition admirably. The design of the arms is striking, taking to an extreme the traditional style of Venetian chandeliers. The contrast between the very elegant colour grey of the arms and the cristallo of the glass shades, is distinctive, recalling lanterns. Eighteen-light, blown glass chandelier. The distinctive, grey-coloured arms are made up of many glass elements, perfectly joined. The elements making up the diffusers are in cristallo glass, hand- blown and hand-crafted using the “rigadin” technique, like the ceiling canopy and the oval “bossette” .
