Mariano Fortuny

Born in Grenada, Mariano Fortuny studied in Paris then went on to settle in Venice at the Orfei Palace, which is now known as the Fortuny Museum. As a painter, sculptor, designer and inventor, he created sets and costumes for the theater and designed furniture and lighting systems. Known as the “Magician of Venice“, he gained international fame for his numerous and prestigious fabrics and furniture designs.
