Ballot Chair

The Ballot Chair was launched in 2017 to mark the twenty-first anniversary of Barber & Osgerby’s first collaboration with Isokon. Extremely lightweight, and stackable — a rare trait for a solid timber chair. The slender design uses aeroply veneers to construct an incredibly thin seat. The chair’s name derives from the slot in the seat that resembles the slot in a ballot box — a feature that also reveals the lightness of its construction.
