When Yrjö Kukkapuro designed his studio in 1968, he worked with highly experimental materials, forms, and architectural ideas. The vaulted concrete ceiling, which prevented the use of traditional ceiling-mounted fixtures, led directly to the creation of the Luminaire Series 100 – a collection developed to meet the designer’s own lighting needs. The YK100B1 is the table light of the series, featuring a stable freestanding base that offers flexible placement in any interior. It can also be used in combination with the stands found throughout the rest of the Series 100, making it a versatile and timeless lighting solution.
